Over-the-Rhine is an easy neighborhood to build a morning around.

You can start with breakfast, walk through Findlay Market, spend some time around Washington Park and Cincinnati Music Hall, or use the Connector to keep exploring downtown without getting back in the car.

The part worth planning is the order.

Findlay Market doesn’t open at the same time every day. Weekend crowds can change the pace of the neighborhood. And if breakfast is only one stop in your Cincinnati morning, eating at the right time can make everything after it easier.

Here’s how to plan it.

If Findlay Market Is Your Main Stop, Check the Day First

Findlay Market is one of the anchors of Over-the-Rhine, but its opening time changes throughout the week.

The market is currently open:

• Tuesday–Friday: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

• Saturday: 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

• Sunday: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Monday: Closed

Its Farmers Market also runs year-round on Saturdays and Sundays.

That makes breakfast timing especially useful on Sunday.

Instead of arriving at Findlay Market before merchants are open, you can start nearby at Biscuit Love Cincinnati, which opens at 7 a.m. daily, eat without rushing, and head toward the market closer to its 10 a.m. Sunday opening.

On Saturday, the calculation is different. Findlay Market opens at 8 a.m., so you can decide whether you want the market first while it’s still early or breakfast first before spending the rest of the morning exploring.

A simple Sunday morning

If you want a slower start:

8:30–9:00 a.m. — Breakfast at Biscuit Love Cincinnati

Start at Biscuit Love at 1602 Pleasant Street. Around 10:00 a.m. — Head to Findlay Market

By the time breakfast is finished, Sunday market hours have begun. Findlay Market is home to more than 50 full-time merchants, with additional outdoor and farmers market activity on weekends.

That sequencing makes more sense than treating breakfast and the market as unrelated stops.

If You Want to Walk Around OTR Before the Market Opens

There’s another option when you’re up early.

Washington Park opens at 6 a.m. and sits across from Cincinnati Music Hall, so it works well before or after breakfast when you have time to fill before another attraction opens. The park includes walking paths, green space, a playground, dog park and other public amenities.

A morning could look like:

Washington Park → breakfast → Findlay Market

or:

Breakfast → Washington Park → Findlay Market

Which order works better depends mostly on the day and what you actually want to spend time doing.

That matters more than following a rigid “perfect OTR itinerary.”

If you have kids who need space to move, Washington Park may be useful earlier. If shopping at Findlay Market is the priority, plan around the market’s opening time. If you have tickets, a tour or another fixed reservation later in the day, work backward from that.

What to Order When You Still Have a Full Morning Ahead

Not every breakfast has to knock out the rest of your day.

Biscuit Love is known for biscuit-focused dishes, including the East Nasty, made with a biscuit, fried chicken, cheddar and sausage gravy, and the Princess, with Nashville hot chicken, pickles, mustard and honey. The menu also includes Bonuts, shrimp and grits, egg dishes, waffles and several lighter options.

If you’re planning to walk around OTR afterward, choose based on the kind of morning you want.

Cincinnati’s Connector streetcar is free to ride and operates on a 3.6-mile loop connecting Over-the-Rhine, downtown and The Banks. The system has 18 stations, with popular destinations including Findlay Market and Washington Park. Streetcars are scheduled roughly every 15 minutes.

That gives you another way to structure the day:

Park once, have breakfast, explore OTR, and use the Connector if your plans continue farther into downtown Cincinnati.

Check the current schedule before relying on it for a time-sensitive reservation or event.

What About Monday?

Monday is the one day where the usual breakfast-and-Findlay-Market plan doesn’t work because Findlay Market is closed.

That doesn’t make OTR a bad Monday morning.

It just means you should build the morning around something else.

Breakfast at Biscuit Love can still be followed by Washington Park, a walk through the neighborhood or a trip farther downtown. Biscuit Love remains open on Mondays under its normal daily schedule.

That small distinction is worth knowing before arriving with Findlay Market at the center of your plans.

Planning Breakfast Before an Event at Music Hall

If Cincinnati Music Hall is your actual destination, don’t overcomplicate the morning.

Music Hall sits directly across Elm Street from Washington Park, making the park and surrounding OTR neighborhood natural places to spend time before an event.

Check your event time first, give yourself enough room for breakfast, and then work backward.

Weekend brunch periods can be busier, and Biscuit Love specifically notes that earlier mornings and weekdays are generally easier times to visit than peak weekend brunch hours.

For a fixed event, arriving earlier is usually more useful than trying to squeeze breakfast into the smallest possible window.

Build the Morning Around What You Actually Came to Do

There isn’t one correct way to spend a morning in Over-the-Rhine.

If Findlay Market is the priority, check its opening time first.

If you have a show or reservation, work backward from it.

If you just want to explore, start with breakfast and keep the rest flexible.
